Assessments Held, Teams Being Chosen

Assessments Held, Teams Being Chosen

Thank you to all the coaches, players and parents who contributed to a successful assessment day at the New England Premier Sportsplex on Tuesday. It was a good showing and a good time.

The coaches are putting their heads together to select teams this week. (If you've heard anything about the teams, don't count on it being correct...nothing is final yet.)

The coaches will be contacting the players on their roster shortly.

We look forward to starting practice very soon.

Schedule for Assessments

We have the schedule set for the assessment day next Tuesday, March 19, at the New England Premier Sportsplex in Danvers (Route One North). Each group has a 15-minute registration period prior to taking the field, at which time the girls will check in and receive numbered pinnies. We will have a table set up for registration with signs pointing you to it. Girls only need to bring their gloves and wear sneakers. If they have a bat and helmet, they are welcome to bring it.

This is not a tryout. Everyone makes a team. We use this time to assess skill levels of each individual player to do our best to ensure equal teams. We highly recommend that you try to make this session, especially new players. However, it is not mandatory.

Each group will be at the Sportsplex for about an hour from check-in to departure. The schedule is:

Farm Division (2nd-4th grades): 4:45 check-in, 5:45 dismissal

Junior Division (5th-6th grades): 5:30 check-in, 6:30 dismissal

Senior Division (7th-8th grades): 6;15 check-in, 7:05 dismissal (50 minutes)

Once we've had the assessments, our coaches will select their teams and you should hear back within a week (or less). We will then begin scheduling practices. Game schedules will not be available until mid-April most likely, as we have to wait for all of the towns to submit their teams and for a schedule to be generated.
